MATERIAL RESEARCH/SOURCING (RESEARCH PART B)


I took a trip down to Reverse Art Truck in Ringwood, a lot smaller than we thought. $25 for a fully filled bag. They had a lot of different materials, I couldn't believe the kind of stuff they had, most of it was crap but good for people who are crafty. There were Mum's with their kids everywhere when we went.



20mm thick foam - easily found/used off cuts in upholstery/comes in different thicknesses/$5-$25 per metre *brand new*


white venetian blind slats - a bucket full at Reverse Art Truck/not as easily found/$? usually sold as a blind



timber crate frame - painted black - off cuts nailed together/easily made and found/$1-$10

miniature pot plants pots - used pots/easily found/comes in different colours and shapes/$0.90


cardboard tubing off cuts into small rings - easily found/whole bucket full at Reverse Art Truck/very cheap $5 for a bag full


white plastic containers - storage for anything/$2 each *brand new*/no lids


reflective yellow plastic mesh cut up into square rows - used for traffic or construction sites/limited supply/$?


rubber elastic - could be used in clothes making/$0.50 per metre/more at Reverse Art Truck/can be easily sourced in fabric houses

padded beige upholstery - off cuts/all different sizes/very dirty/$1 per metre

maroon coloured vinyl fabric - off cuts/all different shapes and shades/$3+ per metre *brand new*

white plastic reels - could be used to store string/$0.50 each/ only came in white


yellow plastic coated wire - communication lines/limited supply/$2+ per metre

soft/flexible plastic translucent tubing - blue tint/different sizes/more at Reverse Art Truck/$5 for a bag
